Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), also known as term deposits, earn higher interest than a regular savings account and can help you make the most of your money within your investment timeline.

Key Information

• Flexibility of short and long terms ranging from 32 days to 5 years.

• Both your original investment and interest payments are guaranteed.

• Include GICs (term deposits) in registered investments like RRSPs, RRIFs or TFSAs, or in non-registered investments.

• Non-redeemable and redeemable options available.

• Eligible deposits (not in registered accounts) are insured up to $250,000 through the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA).

Index Linked Term Deposits

A safe, secure way of expanding your investment range. These term deposits are linked to the performance of the S&P/TSX 60 Index but your principal investment amount is guaranteed.

• Potential to earn a higher return than the interest paid on a standard term deposit.

• Your principal investment is guaranteed.

• Unlike other term deposits, there is no guaranteed return on this product. Depending on the performance of the stocks comprising the S&P/TSX 60 Index over the term, it is possible that, at maturity, the investor will receive only their principal back.

• Choose from a 3 year or 5 year term.

• Minimum investment amount is $1,000.00.

• 75% participation rate on 3 year investment.

• 125% participation rate on 5 year investment.
