A MemberCard® debit card provides safe and secure access to your account(s) through a worldwide network of ATMs and most retail merchants in Canada and the US. 

All you need is your own Personal Identification Number (PIN) which you can obtain and/or change any time you feel you need to in branch or at an ATM.

Why use MemberCard® debit card

Where can I use my CHIP MemberCard® debit card inside Canada?

Sudbury Credit Union provides its members with access to THE EXCHANGE® Network, a shared network of full-service ATMs in all 13 provinces and territories that allows you both withdrawal and deposit functions on a surcharge-free basis. HSBC Bank Canada, National Bank, Mac's and Circle K as well as several area credit unions including Northern Credit Union and Ukrainian Credit Union participate in THE EXCHANGE® Network, meaning you can use their ATM’s at no additional cost.

Can I make a store purchase with my CHIP MemberCard® debit card?

You can use your CHIP MemberCard® debit card to make purchases at most retailers in Canada and the USA. 

 Interac Direct

In Canada, look for the INTERAC® symbol located on the back of your card.  This indicates that you can perform an INTERAC Direct Payment® (or debit purchase). If you have our NO FEE Account, this transaction is absolutely free. 

Accel

In the US, look for the ACCEL® symbol located on the back of your card.  This transaction is surcharge free (although the transaction will most likely be performed in USD dollars and converted to Canadian dollars at the exchange rate during the time of posting).

Where can I use my CHIP MemberCard® debit card outside Canada?

When planning to travel abroad, a wise step is to confirm where and how you can access cash before you go.  Members can rely on their CHIP MemberCard® debit card at any Cirrus® branded ATMs. With more than a million ATMs in over 210 countries, you’ll never be far from a Cirrus ATM.  Please note that there is an additional service fee per Cirrus ATM withdrawal*.

Who do I call when my CHIP MemberCard® debit card is lost or stolen?

Once we are advised, you are not liable for any money removed from your account without your permission. You can report a lost or stolen CHIP MemberCard® debit card using the following:

  • During regular business hours call us locally at 705-682-0641 or toll free at 1-855-869-2196 (option 0)
  • After hours, please call 1-800-LOST111 (1-800-567-8111)
  • Outside Canada, please call 1-306-566-1276
