Empowering Your Community Grant to Sudbury Food Bank



As a 2018 recipient of Concentra's Empowering Your Community grant, Sudbury Credit Union was able to make a $10,000 donation towards the Sudbury Food Bank's Hot Dog Cart. The cart will sell hot dogs, sausages and combo meals and all net profits will support the Food Bank's programming. The venture was made possible with the support of community organizations including WAT Supplies and Wholesale Club.

Concentra's Empowering Your Community program provides grants to Credit Unions to be used to support local causes in their communitites. To date, Concentra has donated $1.4 million to over 100 community projects.

$50,000 to the Sudbury Hospice Foundation

Donation to the SUdbury Hospice Foundation

At the 2018 Annual General Meeting, held on April 10, 2018, Sudbury Credit Union announced that it will be making a $50,000 donation to the Sudbury Hospice Foundation’s Stand By Me campaign.

The Stand By Me campaign will fund an expansion project at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, as well as renovations to the existing building. The campaign will directly benefit those living with, or affected by, serious illness and grief. It will also enable the Hospice to offer ongoing support and training to health care professionals, volunteers, and caregivers who provide this vital care at home and in the community.

Increase to Deposit Insurance Coverage

Effective January 1, 2018, your non-registered Canadian deposits at Sudbury Credit Union are now insured for up to $250,000 through the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (an increase from the previously insured amount of $100,000). Registered deposits and TFSAs continue to have unlimited coverage.
